Exchange of Ideas: Sharing Experiences, with Thiago Elniño (RJ)+Erick Jay (SP), this Saturday, at the Kebrada Festival

From Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo to our Kebrada! Thiago Elniño and Erick Jay arrive on the island for two super shows this Saturday. Before, they receive artists and interested parties to exchange an idea about Hip Hop, career, challenges and achievements! Enough for exchange! Saturday (12/14), at 5:30 pm. ERICK JAY competed with DJ’s from all over the world and won the DMC World, the biggest and most prestigious DJ’s championship on the planet, and the Ida World Battle, in 2016, becoming the first DJ in Latin America to win an international title . This year it won the DMC ON LINE. For three consecutive years (2006 to 2008) he was considered the best DJ in Latin America. He has 14 titles in national championships. In 2012, he was nominated for the Global Spin Awards (United States), a kind of Grammy for DJ’s, in the South America category. He has toured France, Germany, Czech Republic and England. He worked with the rap groups Pregador Luo, Dexter and Xis. He is currently a DJ for rapper Kamau and Black Alien. Since 2008, he has been a DJ for the program Manos e Minas, on TV Cultura. He is a performance DJ, who combines speed, creativity and mastery of the track. His sound is influenced by Marvin Gaye, Tim Maia, James Brown and Michael Jackson. THIAGO ELNIÑO is a rapper and popular educator, his sound is marked by boombap, Jamaican influences, the sounds of terreiros and Brazilian popular music, such as guitars; in addition to afrobeat and Latin rhythms. His narrative is strong and energetic. He started in music at age 15 and is inspired by Luís Melodia, Marku Ribas, Itamar Assumpção, Jorge Ben Jor, Fela Kuti and boxer Muhammed Ali. In his 17-year career, he released the EPs Cavalo de Briga (2012) and Filhos de Um Dancing God (2016). In 2017, he released his first album, A Rotina do Pombo (2017). His video clips Amigo Branco (2013), Diaspora (2016) and Pedagoginga (2017) reinforce what he believes to be the strength of his work: propose guidelines! The struggle of black people for social justice, African ancestry and spirituality are the main themes of her work. —
