Ministry of Culture, Vale and Vale Maranhão Cultural Center present Occupy CCVM - Sintétika.
The exhibition is the result of the public notice Occupy CCVM — Amazônia em Foco, and brings together the works of Maranhão artists Tairo Lisboa, Letícia Martins, Lucas Ferreira and Márcio Vasconcelos; Evna Moura and Alberto Bitar from Pará; Gabriel Bicho from Rondonia; and Alessandro Fracta and Coletivo Picolé de Massa from Pará. With installations and images that connect to create a portrait of the Amazonian individual in relation to their environment, Sintétika is the meeting of different perspectives on life in the midst of the largest tropical forest on the planet.

The exhibition provides an overview of the indigenous peoples of Maranhão through their traditional material cultures, worldviews, territories, and languages. Beyond the Margins

28 March to 17 June 2023

Ministry of Culture, Vale and Vale Maranhão Cultural Center present “Beyond the Shores”.
First shown at ExpoDubai 2020, the exhibition brings together works by photographers Pierre Verger, Walter Firmo, Marcel Gautherot, Elza Lima, Maureen Bisilliat, Ronney Alano and Christian Knepper, from personal collections from the Moreira Sales Institute and the Pierre Verger Foundation, and three videos by artist Cao Guimarães from Minas Gerais.
The photographs portray the popular daily life of Brazilian communities in relation to the landscape in which they live, and highlight popular work as the source of the origin of culture. It is curated by Gabriel Gutierrez.

Renounce/Mobi

The Ministry of Culture, Vale and Vale Maranhão Cultural Center invite the opening of the exhibition Renounce/Mobi on February 14th at 19:00.

The unprecedented exhibition presents an overview of the work of the photographer Mobi from Maranhão. There are 300 photographs that document the city of São Luís from the 60s to the 2000s, based on three narrative lines: the official city, the marginal city, and the popular agents that inhabit and transform urban spaces. The exhibition also includes an unpublished documentary directed by filmmaker Beto Matuck. It is curated by Gabriel Gutierrez.
Resign/Mobi will run until June 3, 2023.

Zimar

From August 16, 2022 to February 18, 2023, the Vale Maranhão Cultural Center exhibited Zimar.

The exhibition presented to the public the works of the artisan from the city of Matinha, who uses everyday objects to make cazumba faces, enchanting by his creativity and imagination. There were 65 grimaces made of helmets, PVC pipes, motorcycle fenders, aluminum pans and other various materials.

The Vale Maranhão Cultural Center presents ELKE. The exhibition tells the story of the artist who enchanted and impacted Brazil for her intelligence, irreverence, and attitude. They are photos, clothing, wigs, rings and pieces from Elke Maravilha's private collection, which allow the public to know the thinking and ethics built by her.

Hiorlando

The Vale Maranhão Cultural Center presented Hiorlando, an exhibition by the Maranhão freshwater artist from Maranhão discovered by Mapearte – Mapping and Documentation of Maranhão Handicrafts. With his unique features, Hiorlando presented friends with his pieces and was successful in the region. In all, 80 works composed the exhibition, including animals from the land, the sea and the artist’s imagination.

The exhibition Ancer exhibited at the Vale Maranhão Cultural Center works by the Maranhão artist Claudio Costa divided into three nuclei - Bestiário, Arcabouço and Nódoa.
Using predominantly the dyeing technique, Claudio gathered materials and prints in the cities where he visited, on a long journey through the north of Maranhão.
