In its first national edition, Ocupa CCVM brought Desmanche to the public, a collective exhibition that brought together 33 works by 11 Brazilian artists.
Curated by Gabriel Gutierrez, the exhibition located the place of breach and artistic work as horizons for the reinvention of the realities established in times of crisis. Based on the concept of dismantling, the exhibition invited reflection on the current context of life, proposing questions that consider the state of movement as a determinant for the production of knowledge.
The selected works shared the desire to establish a new order for things, understanding that many established situations and habits lost meaning. In this context, reinvention is the way out found. It is necessary to dismantle to build.
Desmanche was on display from April 20 to November 30, 2021.
