The 2021 edition of Indígenas.br is coming. And this time, the diversity of indigenous songs is the highlight. Music video shows, documentary shows, shows, chats and unpublished content by two peoples of Maranhão – the Kanela Ramkokamekrá and Guajajara Tentehar – will be screened in 9 days with a program designed to disseminate the plurality of musical productions performed by indigenous artists from different parts of the country.
Curated by researcher and musician Magda Pucci and journalist and poet Renata Tupinambá, Indigenas.br – Indigenous Music Festival will take place from September 4th to 12th on our YouTube channel.

Maracá (mbaraka) is a symbolic element of great importance for indigenous culture. This instrument of mediation par excellence, is associated with the connection with the world of spirits and the sacred universe, creates links between past and present. The Maracá produces a sound that invokes beings of the invisible and bring knowledge and wisdom.
Aislan Pankararu created the art of the festival bringing the power of this sound instrument into indigenous cultures, where the forest and its sound branches come out. Maracas are instruments that activate supernatural powers, producing communication between humans and non-humans, which accompany the singers of the shamans.
