During the week in which National Samba Day is celebrated, we will host Samba de Mina for the Samba Pequena show. Composed only of female members, the group shows feminine strength in the samba performed in Maranhão.
The repertoire includes samba de batucada songs, anthological sambas-plots, compositions by artists from Maranhão, such as Patativa and Didã, as well as original songs and reinterpretations of popular culture from Maranhão performed to the rhythm of samba.
As it could not be more than a celebration of Samba Day, the “Minas” will also sing points of African-based religiosity already interpreted as public domain.
Samba Pequena will bring a lot of joy through the affective memory provided by songs that tell the history of Maranhão.
