Created in 1966, the Coco Pirinã Dance of the Coco Pirinã Folk Association is present during the June festivities and is also known as Coco de Roda. The demonstration of African origin arrived in Brazil in the 1950s, with its percussion instruments, such as drums, rattles, retints, ganzás, agogô and triangle.
The game is characterized by forming a large circle composed of men and women, totaling approximately 50 pairs, who are singing and dancing a choreography, rhythmed by the drums that are in the center of the wheel.
They are the attraction of this Thursday’s Open Courtyard. Free programming.
