Reinterpretations of popular culture through the voices and sounds of the Babaçueira group

From Rio to the Sea: Encantarias do Maranhão is a full-bodied rhythmic-musical show, bringing together artists who bring baggage in music, dance, theatrical performance and audiovisual, commemorating reinterpretations of the popular cultures of Maranhão through their migratory history, memories that nourish what is present today on the island of Upaon Açu.

The Babaçueira group is composed of Bya Santos, Gessa Cristina, Lara Moura, Luiza Fernandes, Mayara Sucupira and Vih Davice. The show will feature the participation of Mestra Samme Sraya and the instrumentalist Hugo César.
