In April, the Vale Maranhão Cultural Center completes three years of activities and created the CCVM Digital seal to facilitate access to various contents of its programming, sharing it more intensely with the public that remains in social isolation to avoid contagion by COVID19. During this period, each week the CCVM Digital seal highlights new content on social networks, telling a little about it and presenting the link for direct access to the channel and website. For those who miss that artist or group or for those who want to learn more about the diverse cultural production of Maranhão, this is a good time to go. CCVM's digital collection includes catalogs of all exhibitions, available for download; the videos of concerts by artists from Maranhão of the most diverse genres, which were shown on the Pátio Aberto program, including many special presentations of popular culture. It also includes African art classes given by specialist Juliana Bevilacqua, who came to São Luís for five editions of the course aimed at teachers. It also has storytelling by Burkina Faso artist François Bamba, received in 2018 for four different shows. Plus, the videos of the Kebrada festival concerts. All these contents are accessible on the Cultural Center's Youtube page and on the website. The Vale Maranhão Cultural Center is also sending the links for direct access to the contents, by email, to 800 school directors, teachers, social assistance centers and NGOs, so that they can be passed on to their groups, giving greater amplitude to the dissemination, not limited to to those who are already users of their social networks. “Remembering what we did, supporting the public in isolation with high quality programming and reinforcing the dissemination of artists from Maranhão at this time is a way for us to continue providing service and being close. It is also a way of celebrating our third anniversary, even if from a distance”, recalls Paula Porta, director and curator of CCVM. Since April 2017, the activities of the Vale Maranhão Cultural Center have served 443 thousand people, including visitors in São Luís and the public benefited by actions to circulate the program to cities in the interior and other states, which total 71 thousand people. The work carried out with public schools and social assistance groups is intense, with more than 1,300 groups received, including 6,600 teachers and educators, who were offered 8,000 exhibition catalogs. Among the 631 cultural events held are exhibitions, concerts, dance and theater performances, film sessions, workshops, courses and lectures, which involved 7,180 artists, creators and workshop participants. The four shows held at the CCVM in 2018, in partnership with the French Institute, are available in 9 videos. Bamba belongs to the blacksmith caste and was initiated by his father in the art of storytelling. It has an important job of researching and recording the histories of its people, the Senufo, and other peoples of its country. He has published books, cds and dvds in France and travels the world spreading his art. Bamba is also an actor and musician, is a member of the group Les Murmures de la Forge, is artistic director of festivals and coordinates the network of West African storytellers (Afrifogo). Among the stories you can watch are The Origins of the World (everything has a beginning and an end); Words of the Senufo Women (for these people of matriarchal culture, it is the woman who sows the first words in our hearts and spirits); and Escola dos Ancestralis (every village has a square with a large tree and, under it, we find the elders ready to give us advice, to share a word and with an ear to listen…).
