Workshop will study processes of Bumba Meu Boi in writing poetry

Trupiada — Writing with Bumba Meu Boi do Maranhão is a writing workshop that will discuss methods and techniques adopted by Bumba Meu Boi groups and try them out in writing poetry. During the sessions, movements, clothing, and plays and their aesthetic relationship with different literary expedients will be studied.

In the first class, there will be an introduction to the formal aspects and ethical principles of Bumba Meu Boi;
In session 2, the notion of time in play will be discussed;
On the 3rd day, the presence and cosmology of the Bumba Meu Boi cords in cities will be discussed.

Nilson is a poet, author of Module, a plaque funded by the Secretariat of Culture of the State of Maranhão, through the Aldir Blanc Law (2022) and is currently a FAPEMA scholarship holder through the Graça Aranha Literature Notice.

There are 20 places, and classes will take place on Saturdays September 2, 16 and 30, from 14:00 to 16:00. Those interested can register in person, at the CCVM reception, on a first-come, first-served basis.
