17/01, at 15:00: Talking Bubuia – Round of conversation with photographer Pablo Figueiredo Photography in the Black Amazon of Maranhão

Pablo Figueiredo is a photographer and visual artist, born and raised in the interior of Maranhão, in São João Batista, in the Baixada Maranhense region and Amazônia Legal, to which his vision is closely related. She currently lives in São Luís, studies at the Maranhão Public Film School and works as a Territorial Cultural Agent for the MinC. Guided by his experiences, knowledge and memories, he uses photography and audiovisual as tools for constructing identity and narratives, documenting everyday life and creating memories.

18/01, at 15:00: Workshop – Poetry and Visual Arts with Gabbie Ribeiro

The purpose of this workshop lies in the belief that art, in its various manifestations, has the capacity to connect people, awaken emotions and promote reflection. By combining visual arts and poetry, we seek to create a space for participants to explore their creativity, develop their artistic abilities, and establish a profound dialogue with language.

Gabbie Ribeiro (São Luís, 2002) Visual Artist, Audiovisual and Cultural Producer, Filmmaker, Photographer, Writer, Researcher and Art Educator, Graduated in Expography and Curatorship from the School of Visual Arts – CEFART (MG), Undergraduate student in Visual Arts – UFMA, Member of the Extension in Alternative Photographic Processes – Pro.Foto.Alter, Founder of ArteColetivo – COCIAARTE (MA), Researcher in Cinema, Image and Movement, Ancestrality-Memory, Photonarratives from the NUPPI Center Image Research and Production.

21/01, at 15:00: Workshop – Collage of Black Ancestry and Maranhão Culture in an Urban Context with Fabíola Ferreira

In this workshop, participants will be invited to produce analogical collages, whose central axis is the valuation of Maranhão and Afro-Brazilian culture, with an emphasis on the urban context and black female representation. All of this, based on the work developed by the artist Fabíola Ferreira, whose research is committed to promoting cultural identity and strengthening narratives that highlight the richness of Maranhão’s intangible heritage and the resistance of black women in different spaces of creation and dialogue. As well as self-recognition and personal empowerment, based on the language of collages and the exploration of themes such as identity, ancestry, and self-acceptance. The activity seeks to create a safe and creative space where participants can explore who they are and what they represent, connecting with their origins and recognizing the impact of their stories and memories.

About the artist:
Visual artist and photographer, graduated in Photography from the State Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Maranhão (IEMA) in Pindaré-Mirim, and currently a graduate with a degree in Visual Arts from the Federal University of Maranhão (UFMA). In addition to acting as an art educator, she organizes artistic collage workshops in the city of São Luís (MA), using art as a tool for expression and social transformation.
