The following subjects will be addressed: • the importance of pre-production and planning before the filming set: script analysis, understanding and preparation of the scene; • presentation of practical examples of creation in suspense, drama, comedy and action; • the team: planning x hours of work, how to allocate the time for a daily filming, how to reconcile the energy and time necessary for the best result; • cameras and lenses, light and frame: focus on action or scene; types of camera and lenses available on the market, formats and framing, when to use a telephoto or wide-angle lens, where and how to position a camera or cameras depending on the action of the scene; • Introduction to Film Aesthetics and Psychology: difference between light and shadow, fixed or moving camera, influence of colors in a scene, what is film “style”, long and short shots and their function in a sequence of images; • the actor and his needs: how to shoot a dialogue scene and an action scene. Vitor Amati started his career, at age 15, as an apprentice in a still-life photography studio. At the age of 20, he opened his own photography studio, Marca X Fotografia, which he produced for fashion and beauty magazines, as well as reporting throughout Brazil. He studied film at New York University. In Milan, he worked for the magazines Cento Cose, Lei, Max Italia, and in Paris, for fashion magazines, combining work as an assistant director and director of photography in film production companies. He has worked as a director of photography for several European agencies and has received awards such as Cannes Lions , Ilford Best European Photography and New York Film Festival . In Russia, he worked with directors such as Yaroslav Chevachevisky. Currently established in Brazil, he develops photography, directing commercials, music videos, shows and TV shows. He recently started his first forays into dramaturgy, in series and feature films. “One of the challenges for those who produce and direct films is to carry out efficient pre-production and planning so that the production does not go out of budget and is completed on time. We will pay special attention to one of the recurring problems in productions, which is the issue of planning, a more boring subject, and that is precisely why it is deficient, as many people skip it”, observes Amati. The director adds that the workshop will be dynamic and new themes may emerge according to the group's demand and that he also intends to deal with the music video. The workshop, like all CCVM activities, is free. Registration: Those interested in participating must send name, contact and resume to contato@ccv-ma.org.br, indicating the name of the workshop in the subject line.
