This Thursday, the 6th, at 19:00, the Vale Maranhão Cultural Center will host the Nambuaçu Collective for the presentation of Songs to Search for the Myrts, in the Open Patio. The moment will bring to the public a unique repertoire of Afro-Brazilian popular songs performed during the traditional celebration of Santo Antônio de Nambuaçu de Baixo, in the city of Rosário (MA).
During the celebration, a procession is held to harvest the myrtles from the forest that serve as decoration for the Santo Antônio pole. The activity coordinated by Mrs. Carmelita Gomes Lima involves the entire community, especially the younger generations, making the tradition perpetuate itself.
The CCVM is located at Rua Direita, 149, Centro Histórico. Free entry.
