With an ancient sound, the band Toró-Açú consists of quilombola girls from Ananindeua (PA) and brings to São Luís the show Caminho das Pedras, by Ocupa CCVM.
In its lyrics, there are the everyday stories of the quilombo, of the resistance of its people, and recognition in the community.
The program also includes a cultural exchange, through the Carimbó de Quilombo Workshop: the voice of a people, in which the importance of carimbó as a cultural expression of the Amazon and the practice of percussive instruments in rhythm will be addressed.
The event is free and takes place on Thursday (10), at 15:00 and 19:00 respectively.
