In 2014, writer, actor and director João Luiz do Couto set out on a four-month journey along the Araguaia River, with the intention of discovering his ancestry, reconnecting with his roots and increasing his artistic repertoire. Photographer Sheila Signário accompanied him, recording the trip that gave rise to the documentary Narrators of Araguaia (João Luiz do Couto).
