Bringing together devotion and fun, the Ilê Axé Akorô D’Ogum terreiro presents the Taboca Creole Drum. The game differs from the common drum because of the percussion instruments made of bamboo of different sizes.
Founded in 1995, Ilê Axé Akorô d’Ogum is a mine drum yard that keeps alive the traditions of Mina Nagô, Pajelança, Boi de Encantado, Tambor de Taboca and Tambor de Crioula. The Jeje-Nagô trunk house of the Fante Ashante nation, the terreiro is run by Babalorixá Itabajara S. Borges (Togynã).
Admission is free.
