Show Bumbaroots celebrates National Reggae Day at CCVM

In celebration of National Reggae Day (11), the Open Courtyard this Thursday (8) presents the show “Bumbaroots”, by singer-songwriter and drummer George Gomes, known as “The Living Radiola of Reggae”.

The project proposes an original fusion between reggae roots and the rhythms and accents of Bumba Meu Boi. In the repertoire, the public can check out classics such as “Boi de Lágrimas” (Raimundo Makarra) and “Catirina” (Josias Sobrinho), as well as original tracks from the album Bumbaroots, released in the same year the project was created.

With refined arrangements and strong stage presence, George Gomes promises an engaging performance, an encounter between popular culture and one of the most important rhythms in Maranhão: reggae.
