11 June 2024 to 10:00

The Vale Maranhão Cultural Center will hold the second open class of the Notes program, which will take place on Tuesday, the 11th, at 10 am, with the theme “Dialogues between Design and Gender”. The event will be led by Griselda Flesler, designer, master in Design Theory and PhD student in Social Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires. Griselda is a tenured professor of the Architecture, Design and Urbanism course and acts as researcher and director of the HAGA (History, Archives, Genres and Affects) program at the “Mario J. Buschiazzo” Institute of American Art and Aesthetic Research. During the class, Griselda Flesler will address the intersections between design and gender, exploring how these areas can dialogue and enrich each other. The moment is aimed at students, professionals, and design enthusiasts who wish to deepen their knowledge and reflect on contemporary and relevant issues.

After class, the e-book “Design and Gender: Collective Teaching Experiences” will be launched, written by Griselda Flesler (photo), Raquel Noronha, Maria Cecília Loschiavo and Ana Julia Melo Almeida. The book brings together experiences and reflections on teaching design from a gender perspective, promoting an essential discussion for the advancement of the area.

Registrations for the class can be made at the CCVM reception on the day of the event, free of charge. The CCVM is located at Rua Direita, 149, São Luís Historic Center.
