Videodance show debuts with choreography on female ancestry

05 April to 17 May 2022 to 18:00

As of today, the CCVM will be exhibiting the video dance show, the result of the Dança Aqui 2021 notice. There will be 7 works of different styles – contemporary, Afro, street dance – shown on Tuesdays, until May 17.

The dancers Andressa Brandão and Rebeca Carneiro open the works, with Abayomi, a meeting between ancestry, blackness and femininity that develops through the poetics of the body.

Inspired by the indigenous figure of Cabocla Ita — who fights and achieves his goals with faith and charity — the artists mix contemporary, Afro and indigenous dance in their choreography, extolling the beauty, independence and strength of women.

The soundtrack is inspired by the bass guitar accent and the Mina Drum, accompanied by the classical sound of violin and other harmonic instruments.
