Short film tells the story of Divino Espírito Santo's cashier in Rio de Janeiro

On Friday, 26, at 7 pm, Ocupa CCVM Cinema, an exhibition at the Vale Maranhão Cultural Center, will premiere the film Caixas Encantadas .

The documentary tells the story of Dona Antônia from Maranhão, caretaker of the Ilê de Iansã and Obaluayê terreiro and cashier at the Divino Espírito Santo do Maranhão party, who has held the celebration for over 40 years in the municipality of Nova Iguaçu, Baixada Fluminense, metropolitan region from Rio de Janeiro. The short film follows the clerk and Vanessa, her granddaughter and successor, in their trajectories of devotion and resistance.

The daily life of the protagonists is illustrated in a hybrid way, by video, animation and puppet manipulation. The production will be shown on the CCVM channel on Youtube ( www.youtube.com/centroculturalvalemaranhao ).
