Registration is open for the new edition of Intangible Culture Scenes, a cycle of free and online conversations, promoted by MAM Rio in collaboration with the CCVM.
This month, the practices of singing and rhythm, present in traditional cultures through verse, declamation, intonation and repetition are the theme of encounters, addressing the semantic and grammatical aspects of sound, its structures and compositions, as well as the dimensions of enchantment and ritual present at celebrations of terreiros, samba and indigenous musicality.
On the 25th, starting at 2:00pm, Yalorixá and public manager Jô Brandão participates in the first conversation table, alongside the assistant curator of MAM Rio, Beatriz Lemos. Sign up by clicking here.
On the 26th, also starting at 2:00pm, it is the turn of the chat between artwork editor Noan Moreira and singer-songwriter Djuena Tikuna. The conduction is by Gilson Plano, mediation coordinator for MAM Rio. Sign up here.
The conversation cycle Scenes of Intangible Culture is part of the Living Legacies project, which includes the exhibition “Memory is an Invention”, opening on September 4 at MAM Rio, a film show and a publication. The project is sponsored by the Vale Cultural Institute.
