The Concerto de Músicas Autorais features Afro-Brazilian music, performed by singer and composer Adalberto Conceição da Silva (Mestre Zumbi Bahia), which tells the story of the Frechal quilombola community, located in the municipality of Mirinzal. In the repertoire, songs from the CD Ritmos nos Quilombos (1998), among other compositions that deal with the resistance and strengthening of the culture of black communities in Maranhão. Mestre Zumbi Bahia, in addition to being a singer and composer, is a choreographer, percussionist, teacher, pedagogue and Master of Science in Education. He began his artistic career in the Filhos de Obá group, in Salvador (BA) and, since 1994, in Maranhão, he has worked as Pedagogical Coordinator at the Officina Affro Institute. In 2010, he received the Intangible Cultural Heritage Vivo award, conferred by IPHAN, for the implementation and preservation activities of Capoeira in Paraíba and Pernambuco.
