Dramatic Writing Workshop for Theater Opens June at CCVM

01 to 04 June 2021
Actor and director Eduardo Medeiros

From June 1 to 4, at 3:00 p.m., the Vale Maranhão Cultural Center will hold the workshop Drama and Ideology: an exercise of dramatic writing and thought. The workshop starts from the understanding that dramaturgy is a reflection of the thought of a time about society and its values.

Themes such as the concept of Narrator by philosopher Walter Benjamin will be discussed; the influence of French bourgeois drama and melodrama on Western taste and worldview; psychoanalytic issues that discuss the needs of the audience and the construction of the character; drama and its conceptions; principles for the creation of a drama that deals with human tragedies; elements of the plot and development of characters and events based on moral and ethical issues. At the end of the classes, a practice of building a single play will be carried out, starting from a philosophical and theatrical discussion proposed by students skins.

The director and actor of Maranhão will be the director and actor Eduardo Medeiros, a PhD student in Theater from the State University of Santa Catarina — UDESC, a master’s degree in Arts and a graduate in Theater and Philosophy from the Federal University of Maranhão — UFMA. There are 20 vacancies available. To sign up, you must send an email with your name and phone number to contato@ccv-ma.org.br. Classes will take place through the Zoom platform.
