The popular culture of Maranhão, crowning the series of workshops in Território Corpo: Between Brazil and Black Africa , programming of the Black Month and Diversity at CCVM .
The Tambor de Crioula workshop, with artist Regina Arcanjo (MA), takes place on December 11th and 12th, from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm. Let's "baar" the drum? Participants will experience the secular tradition of the Maranhão creole drum, a Brazilian intangible cultural heritage, since 2007 (Iphan). With dance, rhythms and accents of a drum wheel, the artist, accompanied by her group, the Tambor de Crioula Sete Saias de São Benedito , will present the fundamentals of this dance-ritual. Regina Arcanjo, born in Codó (MA), is a manager in Tourism and Hospitality, art educator, actress, performer and choir girl, since 2014. She researches the culture of traditional communities and performs with various groups and artists from Maranhão. She participates, as an urban crochet interventionist, in Coletivo Linhas . The artist is also an artisan of Maranhão gastronomy, since 2016, producing the Pimentas Régia . Come join this spicy wheel.
