The Bumba my Ox Unidos de Santa Fe will present on Friday, June 25, at 7:00pm, the self of the bumba my ox. The staging dramaturgically tells the story of the origin of the game that enchants camp and celebrations in June, based on the well-known characters Father Francisco, Mother Catirina, shaman, love, cowboys, caboclos, etc.
The show is part of the program approved in the Ocupa CCVM call, and was designed by the bassida accent group to revive the tradition and historical value of the ritual. “Many people don’t even know the self of the bumba-meu-boi and don’t know its cultural and historical value. Thus, we saw the need to record these beautiful images, in a commitment to maintain, disseminate and encourage Brazilian cultural production from scratch”, says the President of the United de Santa Fe, Zé Olhinho.
The premiere takes place on the Vale Maranhão Cultural Center channel on YouTube.
