
As part of the Black Month and Diversity program at CCVM , the T erritório Corpo: Entre Brasil e África Negra promotes, on the 18th and 19th of this month, from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm , the Dancehall workshop, with Fabi Silva (SP).
Dancehall is a popular dance from Jamaican culture, which emerged in the late 1970s, evolution of reggae. In Brazil and most of the world, she became more known for her feminine and performance gestures. In the workshop, basic movements and variations will be introduced, as they are usually practiced at parties ( Sound systems ). With joy, exchange and power of movements, the proposal is reconnection and empowerment of bodies.
Fabi Silva is a dancer, dance teacher and socio-cultural educator. A researcher of African Diaspora dances, she is a national reference in Jamaican Dancehall culture. A graduate student in Teaching of Arts and History and Afro-Brazilian Culture, the artist works in actions on the outskirts of São Paulo and participates in national and international events, spreading Jamaican dance.
