Black and Diversity Month at CCVM presents Quelly - National Film Festival of Genres

As part of the program for the Black Month and Diversity at CCVM, the second edition of Quelly – Mostra Nacional de Cinema de Genre takes place from 04 to 07/11. The Mostra, held in partnership with Kasarão Filmes, will be presented this year online on our YouTube channel. Mostra's curatorship selected documentaries, video art and fiction films that deal with the intersectionality between gender, race and class issues. At the end of each exhibition, there will be a chat with the artists and directors. Programming 11/04, 19:00 to 21:30 Screening of PROGRAM 1 Swinguerra , by Benjamin de Burca and Bárbara Wagner – Docufiction, Pernambuco/2019/23 min. Indicative rating: 16 years. Synopsis: On the sports court of a public school, a group of dancers rehearse highly disciplined routines under the watchful eye of a choreographer. Tensions haunt personal desires as they are watched by rival companies. Invisible Men , by Luís Carlos de Alencar – Documentary, Rio de Janeiro/2019/ 25 min. Rating: 16 years old Synopsis: The situation of the trans male population in prison due to health problems caused by the gender binary underlying the penal system. Indicative rating: 14 years old Synopsis: A contemporary dance company is about to premiere Inabitáveis , its newest show that addresses black homo affectivity as a theme. Parallel to the rehearsals, the Choreographer builds a friendship with Pedro, a young black boy who does not identify himself as a boy.
