The Vale Maranhão Cultural Center will virtually exhibit, starting this Wednesday, the 13th, the Mostra Dança Aqui, with the 7 video dances approved in the eponymous public notice launched last year. The productions permeate various dance styles – contemporary, voguing, Afro dances and urban dances -, bringing current themes, such as religious diversity, ancestry, queer art, and others.
The video dance Corpo Mulher – the floor of freedom was chosen to open the exhibition! , by the ballerina and researcher Lourdimar dos Santos e Silva, who tells the story of Dona Rosalina, the enchanted entity of the Mina Drum and Umbanda transformed into a snake by her father as a punishment, but who found her freedom and empowerment in the new form.
Every Wednesday a new video will premiere on the institution’s YouTube channel (youtube.com/centroculturalvalemaranhao) and on Instagram (@centroculturalvalemaranhao).
