Notice CCVM APOIA - new modality of support to the culture of Maranhão

30 August to 12 October 2019

The Vale Maranhão Cultural Center opens registration for the selection of proposals for financial support for popular culture groups, music bands (martial, fanfares or philharmonics) and community cultural spaces so that they can better develop their activities. Support may be requested for making clothing, purchasing instruments or equipment, producing publicity material and improving cultural spaces (furniture or items such as displays and signage). The director and curator of CCVM, Paula Porta, says that the idea of the notice arose from the observation that many cultural groups, despite the relevance of what they do, find it difficult both to maintain their work and to participate in selection processes or events because they do not be able to bear the costs of clothing, replacement of instruments or creation of promotional material that present their work in the way it deserves. Another difficulty of cultural manifestations in the peripheries and interior is the scarcity or precariousness of available cultural spaces, which do not have basic equipment to support their programming. “The forms of support that we propose in the new public notice aim to generate opportunities for groups and bands that are directly supported, but also for artists in general, who need more qualified spaces to receive and help develop their work”, emphasizes Paula. Registration for CCVM Apoia will be open from August 30 to October 12, 2019 . The selected proposals will be announced by the beginning of November. The regulation and the registration form for the notice are available on the website www.ccv-ma.org.br. The application can be delivered at the reception of the CCVM, sent by post, by email or made by video and sent by Whatsapp: 98 98479 9061 . The CCVM director explains that the video application was created to facilitate the participation of teachers and cultural leaders who express themselves better orally. In this way, they do not need to depend on someone to write the proposal for them and can relate directly to the Cultural Center, speaking in the video about everything that is necessary for the evaluation of the requested support. Video registration has already been used in the two notices that the CCVM has already launched in 2019 and it worked very well. “We need to adapt our procedures to the characteristics of the cultural segments we intend to support, always thinking of democratizing access to notices”.
