Kebrada, street art in festival The Centro Cultural Vale Maranhão will hold the Kebrada festival, from November 29th to December 22nd, bringing together 60 artists in a great panorama of the hip hop movement and its derivations. The four founding elements will be present: rhyme, music, graffiti and dance. The festival bets on knowledge and will offer training opportunities in 25 workshops and 2 open conversations, aimed at both artists and beginners. The artistic part is also strong with 31 shows, 4 dance performances, collective graffiti and 3 battles (competition) with awards (rhyme, bboy and passinho). It will be the biggest Hip Hop culture event ever held in Maranhão. “As one of the great artistic expressions of the suburbs, the Hip Hop movement is an example of the transforming force of culture. His artists use rhyme, sound, body and paint to express themselves in a forceful and questioning way. In addition, the movement has a strong social role, especially with young people.
