POÉTICAS DO INFINITO Infinitos, an immersive art exhibition, will open on Tuesday (19), at 7:00 pm, at the CCVM. The exhibition presents an overview of the work of the duo Cantoni-Crescenti, with the participation of Raquel Kogan. It is the first time that the five works, which have already been in several countries (Germany, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Colombia, South Korea, Denmark, Spain, Netherlands and Russia), are exhibited together, creating new re- tions and effects to change public perception. All works dialogue with the idea of infinity, which is translated in different ways. In 2017, three works by the Cantoni-Crescenti duo had been exhibited in the group exhibition File São Luís: art and technology, which inaugurated the CCVM. "These works had a great impact on audiences of different profiles, the research and results obtained by the Cantoni-Crescenti duo are very exciting and we thought it would be interesting to bring them into an overview of their work. Based on the principles of Physics and Mathematics , making use of technology in the always precise execution, the artists offer us visually exuberant and strongly poetic works, which sharpen our senses beyond vision, altering our perception and inviting reflection", explains curator Paula Porta. Artist Rejane Cantoni, who is in São Luís for the opening of the exhibition, started her research on art and technology in the 80s, in partnership with Leonardo Cres-centi, has been developing immersive-interactive works since 2005. She highlights that Infinitos is a interactive and immersive exhibition. A set of works that dialogue with the architecture of the Vale Maranhão Cultural Center to provide a change in perception and points of view, an expansion of the possibilities of seeing the space, which changes as each visitor interacts with the construction. They point out to us that it is possible to look from different points of view, that the horizontal line of each one can be altered." Suspended Garden (a mirrored installation that interacts with the wind and the sun, interfering throughout the space ) gives visibility to what is invisible to immediate perception, reflecting elements that vision often does not reach. Wall (a kinetic sculpture measuring six meters, with movable mirrors that allow seeing from different angles) is a wall that is not a wall, as it allows see through and beyond. When the visitor passes through it, he activates a motor that rotates the mirrors, multiplying what is seen. Tubo incorporated for this exhibition the strength of the local landscape and its constant transformation, caused by the tide. the audience inside a twelve-meter mirrored telescope, which reproduces this landscape in infinite ways. “We wanted to bring into the work this treasure from the tides of Maranhão – which has the greatest variation in Brazil. ends up getting used to the landscape, sometimes we don't even look at it much. Our mission at Infinitos is to rescue, to propose a different look”, explains the artist. The Ludovician landscape was captured for 24 hours by Jonas Pires, especially for this work. Auto-Iris makes us see how a camera sees, or rather, shows us the result of the vision of three cameras capturing in real time. Therefore, what is projected is different every minute, it is never fully repeated. Água, a project created with the participation of artist Raquel Kogan, is a carpet of mirrors, which reflects throughout the space the strength of this element that surrounds São Luís, transforming it completely. It allows experiencing, in a closed space, changes caused by our steps, which are not noticed, for example, when we walk by the sea. This work involved a great research of materials in order to activate in visitors their different senses and touch them physically and sensibly. The works present in the exhibition gain new contours with each assembly, according to the characteristics of the space. But in all of them, the interaction with the public is intense. For artist Rejane Cantoni, "the works work to reactivate the body and sensory perception by highlighting phenomena and sensations present in everyday life, but that go unnoticed". The exhibition will open on the 19th, at 7pm, and can be visited until July 27th. Admission is free and scheduling for schools and groups can be done by e-mail scheduling@ccv-ma.org.br.
