The São João CCVM program hosts, this Thursday (12th), the traditional Bumba Meu Boi de Zabumba Pine Pride.
With 41 years of history, the group is one of the great representatives of popular culture in the Baixada Maranhense, standing out for the powerful musicality of Zabumba and for the traditional instruments made of Jenipapa.
In addition to the traditional characters that make up the game, such as Catirina, Father Francisco and the ox, clowns appear as figures that irreverently connect the sacred with the profane and provoke reflections on everyday life.
With expressive and playful choreography that portray the universe of the north of Maranhão, the group promises a show that exalts and celebrates the identity, religiosity, and cultural diversity of the region.
