The Vale Maranhão Cultural Center promotes this week, from August 2 to 6, at 14:00, the Free Stamping Workshop in Stencil, with the duo of artists Mônica Nador and Bruno O. The workshop proposes the development of drawings and engravings based on the cast mold technique, with the application on different supports, such as paper and fabric.
Mônica Nador is a visual artist graduated from the Armando Álvares Penteado Foundation – FAAP, in São Paulo, and a master’s degree from ECA/USP for her work “Paintings Walls”. In 2003, he founded @jardim .miriam.arte.club (JAMAC), a space that aims to build training processes that stimulate encounters between art and life, aesthetics and politics, through activities such as workshops, exhibitions, conversation circles and open classes, always focusing on diversity, training for citizenship and the right to the city and memory.
Bruno O. is an educator and visual artist. PhD student in Visual Arts from UFMG, master’s degree in Latin American Interdisciplinary Studies (UNILA/PR), specialist in Fine Arts and Contemporaneity (UEMG/MG) and graduated in Computer Science (FUMEC/MG). He is a researcher at MALOCA – Multidisciplinary Study Group on Urbanisms and Architectures of the South of UNILA, with investigations on Latin American visual expressions. He is currently an educator and manager at JAMAC and researcher of the Bajubá Collection, a community project to record memories of Brazilian LGBTQIAP+ communities.
Those interested in holding the workshop must attend the CCVM during class time and register in person and free of charge. The CCVM is located at Rua Direita, nº 149, São Luís Historic Center.
