Faith and devotion: film about Luzia Sousa opens the CCVM vacation schedule

Starting the activities for the month of July, we will host this Tuesday, July 1st, the screening of the short film Who is Luzia Sousa, directed and produced by the artist from Maranhão Maiara Astarte

The documentary portrays the life of Luzia Sousa, a 99-year-old woman from Maranhão who, after surviving a serious car accident, made a promise to Santa Luzia.

Since then, on December 13, he has organized an annual celebration at his house with prayers, porridge, cakes and other important elements of his history of faith and overcoming.

After the session, there will be a conversation circle with Mariana Astarte, with a dialogue about ancestry, family traditions, and resistance in the audiovisual context.
