Elke Maravilha has always attracted attention for her clothing and accessories. The aesthetic adopted by her was intended to communicate her ethics, thoughts, and opinions. The objects created by the artist were “an extension of her soul,” she said. Following with the homage to the artist, the Vale Maranhão Cultural Center will hold the Costume for Audiovisual workshop, with the duo of creators Alex Dário and Vitor Carpe. The workshop aims to create accessories based on the students’ perception of the flamboyant, expressive and precious aesthetic of Elke Maravilha.
Vitor Carpe and Alex Dario have been working together for over 15 years, creating costumes for soap operas, miniseries, documentaries, medium and short films, theatrical shows, operas, shows, fashion editorials, fashion shows, etc. In addition, they are styled by personalities from the cultural scene in the country. The duo’s work is mainly characterized by respect for the rich diversity of styles, bodies and genres, proposing technical and creative paths that meet the needs of clothing. Vitor and Alex closely followed the work and creation of Elke Maravilha.
Classes will take place from September 20 to 23, at 14:00, at the CCVM. Those interested must register in person on the first day of class. The CCVM is located at Rua Direita, 149, São Luís Historic Center.
