Circula CCVM takes Cinema to Quilombola Communities of Itapecuru and Anajatuba, this weekend

10 to 11 August 2019

Circula CCVM is a program created by Centro Cultural Vale Maranhão to take part of its programming to cities in the interior of Maranhão. The program began with the circulation of HIP HOP workshops that had taken place during the Kebrada festival, they have already been through Santa Rita, Rosário, Arari and will arrive in Miranda do Norte in August. In July, the exhibition Afetos was opened in Arari, with photographs by Edgar Rocha, and in August, the Hiorlando exhibition should arrive in Pindaré-Mirim. In July, the program began a new line of action: the projection of films in quilombola communities. Each month the Circula CCVM must pass through eight communities. We have already passed through Santa Rita and this week we will be in Anajatuba and Itapecuru . Six French animations were selected, which have already received several awards in international festivals. The films have no lines, no subtitles and are accessible to all audiences. The French Institute is a partner in the initiative and released the exhibition rights. “We are very excited about the circulation of the cultural center's programming, we always choose high quality content and now we have managed to make many more people have access. The expectation is that the residents of the communities will like it, have fun and let their thoughts fly far when watching the films”, comments Paula Porta, director of CCVM and responsible for the initiative. The sessions will take place this weekend, days 10 and 111, always in the afternoon.
