Cabeça de Nêgo Festival takes place this month through the OCUPA CCVM project

The Cabeça de Nêgo Festival , created by journalist Pedro Sobrinho, is part of the OCUPA CCVM program and comes to celebrate the Month of Black Consciousness with debate, fashion and a ball! SCHEDULE 11/22 (Friday) 6 pm Open Talk: The Difficult Art of Being Black and Self-Esteem , with Louise Mendes (photographer), Meire Rabelo (coordinator of the Bantu Kunlê Collective), Erik Moraes (lawyer), Mariana Sulidade ( historian) and Luciana Oliveira (art-educator and singer). Copyright show clothes, the designer John Belfort Disk Jokey with Gabriella Lion and Brunoso. 11/23 (Saturday) 6 pm Baile Somos Todos Black , led by DJs Pedro Sobrinho and Joaquim Zion Show Canal Raja + Luciana Oliveira (DF) GUESTS: LOUISE MENDES , founder of I-Black, a community that discusses the role of black people in the market of work. As a photographer, she portrayed fashion inspired by the cultural aspects of Reggae and its influence on the identity of São Luís. MARIANA SULIDADE , popular educator at Rede Emamcipa; historian, master at UEMA, research teaching history, territorialities and racial issues, substitute professor of the history course at UEMA. MEIRE RABELO, activist of the black and feminist movement, coordinator of the Bantu Kunlê Collective, graduated in Social Work from UFMA and Master's student in Social and Political Cartography at UEMA. ERIK MORAES , lawyer, first president of the Truth Commission on Black Slavery in Brazil, of the OAB-MA, activist of the Black Movement and Human Rights. JOÃO BELFORT , stylist, creator of Moda do João and member of the creative collective Haus 337 . He worked with Thayanara OG, Zeca Baleiro, Only Fuego, among others. He worked with important names in fashion from Maranhão, such as Chico Coimbra. He was awarded twice as the best fashion producer in Maranhão. DJ BRUNOSO has been producing his own sounds since he was 13 years old, inspired by peripheral Brazilian genres, mixing them with elements of Bass Music . His sets range from Funk, Rasteirinha, Hip-Hop , Bregadeira and Electronic Music. DJ GABRIELLA LEÃO , began her career as a producer of black protagonism events. Passionate about black music and derivatives, her biggest references are drums and Brazilian musicality. DJ PEDRO SOBRINHO , for over 20 years on the dancefloor, has already made noises in and out of Maranhão. He played and produced parties in several venues, presenting a DJing full of personality. It brings remixed Brazilianities to the dance (coco, ciranda, maracatu, so ns da Am azônia), Dub, Afrobeat, Soul and R&B. JOAQUIM ZION , researcher, cultural producer, one of the pioneers and reference in the art of vinyl DJing in Maranhão. It brings together a rare collection, with more than five thousand vinyls, which began at the age of 16. In the 90s, he created Rádio Zion, which featured reggae and Brazilian music. It's been 22 years of DJing and production, highlighting the concert by Jamaicans Johnny Clarke and Lloyd Parks, among others. His set brings Roots Reggae, Samba Rock, Original Funk, Dub, Afrobeat, MPB and rarities from his collection. CANAL RAJA , with its digital bases played by a DJ, Raja presents an original work, danceable and vibrant, with influences from Rub-a-Dub and all the Jamaican sound. LUCIANA OLIVEIRA (DF) , singer, ex-backing vocalist of the band Natiruts, for the first time in solo performance on the island, has performed all over Brazil. It moves from samba to afoxé, strongly inspired by Afro-Brazilian music. In 2011, he recorded with the living legend of Dub, Mad Professor, at the singer's studio in London, mixing reggae and Brazilian music.
