CCVM offers free scenic lighting classes in partnership with Arthur Azevedo Theater

The Vale Maranhão Cultural Center will hold, from August 16 to 20, from 15:00 to 19:00, the workshop Basic Principles of Lighting. Classes will introduce students to the world of scenic lighting through historical, technical, and aesthetic perspectives. Topics sensitive to the creation, assembly and operation of light will be addressed, based on practical exercises and experimentation in different scenic spaces, such as the Italian stage and alternative spaces.

The workshop will be taught by artists and illuminators Calu Zabel and Karine Spuri. Calu has a degree in Performing Arts from Universidade Estadual de Londrina — UEL and lighting from SP Escola de Teatro, and has been a scenic illuminator since 2005, creating and operating the light of dance productions, theater, music, video and art exhibitions. Karine holds a bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts from UEL, graduated from the technical course of the Municipal Theater School of Londrina – EMT and works in the Performing Arts in various aspects, such as theater, dance, performance, art exhibitions, musical and circus shows.

Classes will take place at the CCVM and the Arthur Azevedo Theater, in an unprecedented partnership. Those interested must attend the CCVM on the first day of school, starting at 14:00, to register in person. 30 places will be offered.
