Quinta da Boa Vista, a neighborhood in the city of Pinheiro, hosts one of the great celebrations of the Divine Holy Spirit in Maranhão. One of the oldest in the Baixada Occidental Maranhão, the festival takes place over ten days in the month of January and includes box calls, litanies, processions and processions, as well as visits to the empires and the raising and dropping of the mast, dinners, and the distribution of candies and cakes.
The party is a family heritage: it began with Father Francelino Lobato, in the town of Cerro, in 1957; it passed to his daughter, Tereza de Francelino, a fervent devotee of the Divine Holy Spirit and Saint Sebastian; after his death, the children, grandchildren and the community continued the celebration.
The Caixeiras do Salão do Divino Espírito Santo, São Benedito and São Sebastião do Bairro da Quinta da Boa Vista arrive in São Luís for a presentation at the Open Courtyard this Thursday (22) starting at 19:00 in another free and unmissable CCVM program!
