Bumba Meu Boi groups from the interior of the state celebrate São João at the CCVM

June, the main month of popular culture in Maranhão, has arrived and the Vale Maranhão Cultural Center celebrates São João by hosting Bumba Meu Boi groups from the interior of the state. For 4 weeks, the games will be the attractions of the Open Courtyard, the institution’s program aimed at shows and presentations of popular culture.
The groups come from the cities of Matinha, Monção, Penalva, Central do Maranhão, Pindaré-Mirim, Cururupu and Guimarães. In addition to the Bumba Meu Boi games, a Creole Drum group will also be presented.

June 16th (Friday) – Bumba Meu Boi Mimo De São João – Pindaré-Mirim
June 22 (Thursday) – Tambor de Crioula African Roots – Central do Maranhão
June 23 (Friday) – Bumba Meu Boi Rama Santa – Cururupu
June 28 (Wednesday) – Bumba Meu Boi Brilho De Areia Branca – Cururupu
June 30th (Friday) – Bumba Meu Boi de Guimarães – Guimarães
The Vale Maranhão Cultural Center is located at Rua Direita, 149, São Luís Historic Center.
All programming is free of charge.
