Bumba Meu Boi de Iguaíba celebrates 170 years of popular culture

The first presentation of the Bumba Meu Boi de Iguaíba dates from 1852, born from the promise of a fisherman’s cure. It’s been 170 years enchanting and garnishing the São João do Maranhão festivals.

To celebrate this story, Bumba Meu Boi de Iguaíba occupies the Open Patio this Thursday with the presentation Salve Iguaíba, 170 Years of Garnishing and Enchanting the Lands of Maranhão.
