All Elkes in one place! CCVM inaugurates unprecedented exhibition about Elke Maravilha

17 May to 30 September 2022

The CCVM opens to the public this Tuesday, May 17, its new unprecedented exhibition: ELKE.

Curated by Gabriel Gutierrez and Ubiratã Trindade, the exhibition brings together unpublished photos, costumes, wigs, accessories, videos and personal collection of one of the most emblematic artists in Brazil.

“From Elke’s explicit aesthetic creation, an ethic built to give light to everything that could have meaning is born. This exhibition is a tribute to that vision, focused on Elke as an artist and thinker. Elke proposed a unique way of being in the world. And in addition, he generously shared and clarified his thoughts on various topics such as death, the male and the female, the role of mass communication, and the aesthetic creation for those who wanted to listen. Elke would turn the perception of things upside down and take the place of a lighthouse, since he expressed himself on issues that, in his time, were considered taboo”, says Gabriel.

ELKE will be on display at the CCVM from Tuesday to Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., until September 30. And it will soon be available throughout Brazil through a virtual tour here on our website.
