Call Instituto Cultural Vale 2022 releases the list of selected projects

The Vale Cultural Institute released this Thursday, the 15th, the list of those selected by the Call Instituto Cultural Vale 2022, with sponsorships for projects from the five regions of Brazil. There are 41 projects from 21 states and the Federal District, which strengthen the Institute’s commitment to the promotion of culture, to the appreciation of various artistic expressions, and to the democratization of access to Brazilian cultural production. The result of the Instituto Cultural Vale 2022 Call is available here. The selection was made by a committee of external experts, professionals who are references in the areas of public notice, and by the Vale Cultural Institute.

Made with resources from the Federal Cultural Incentive Law (article 18), the contributions of the sponsorships selected for the Call Vale Cultural Institute 2022 will be made in 2022. The selected projects will receive a total amount of R$ 25 million, divided into two value ranges — up to R$ 900 thousand and up to R$ 1.5 million. In addition to the implementation in the states where they were enrolled, half of the selected projects will also cover other Brazilian states in 2023, strengthening the Institute’s circulation strategy.

Expanding opportunities for cultural makers in Brazil is a commitment that we have embraced since 2020, with the creation of the Institute, and which is strengthening every year, with diverse, inclusive projects designed for all audiences. We seek to guarantee the multiplicity of artistic manifestations, promote the creative economy, promote local development and the circulation of projects — from those that everyone knows to those that everyone needs to know, says Hugo Barreto, CEO of the Vale Cultural Institute.

To date, the Vale Cultural Institute has sponsored more than 500 cultural projects in over 24 Brazilian states and the Federal District, with its own resources encouraged. Of these, 132 projects were selected through two public “cultural calls” in 2020 and 2021. Coming from different regions of Brazil, they received an investment of R$ 50 million in resources under the Federal Cultural Incentive Law. In addition, along with its museums and cultural centers, through the Apoia public notice, it awarded regional popular culture artists and groups. In 2022, the states of Pará and Maranhão were awarded a total of R$ 800,000 in legal resources through the House of Culture of Canaã dos Carajás and the Vale Maranhão Cultural Center.
